On the Other Side of Music

Rock music is the music of young and energetic. Some people call it music of chosen. And some just create it.  Those young and energetic manage to share their passion for life with others.  

However, rock music, at the same time, has always been the music of underground. Those less known musicians start from zero only with passion for music and strong will to share this passion with others. Starting from far away I want to tell, rock music has very limited audience due to the fact that many people cannot appreciate it, nevertheless, it has found itself in CCNU. The best proof is the music event called “Fusion”, which was held on Saturday, December 9th.

As an informal underground event, it took place somewhere unknown and a bit strange which was far from well-known cultural places of our university.

“Fusion” gathered some young, creative and talented artists. They are not afraid to be judged by amateurs and laymen, but want to be heard even by limited audience. Guitar accompanied by cello, bass guitar accompanied by violin, the combination of the beautiful notes from different instruments was a feast for our ears. But the most important was the atmosphere and message of young souls sent through the music. This message was heard.

Next stage was taken by rock, young, really energetic, and strong. There were no bright guitar solos, crazy slam, broken instruments or jumping off the stage. However, even without all this attributes of rock performance, the general atmosphere was amazing. That was not a big stage, but everything started from small: guitar lines, musical experiments and drum rhythms.

Of course, the most pleasant was to see artists not only from CCNU, but also from other universities and bands, which consist of representatives from different schools. It is stunning that such a small platform could gather students of different schools at the same place to share and perform. But at the same time, it is a pity that “Fusion” is not very well known, because it could be better in all dimensions. Our school already has bands, which are famous even all around Wuhan. The involvement of those famed bands may be a great way for “Fusion” to develop.
